I have a Maxtor One Touch, USB/FireWire external hard drive. Today when I tried to turn it on it made several digital beeps and a bad noice and wouldn’t turn on. If I leave it on it will continue to make the beeps and bad noise every 30 seconds or so. This hard drive contains all my pictures and on top of that just last night I cleaned off my laptop and reformated it…. and if your wondering, I had turned off the Hard drive and removed it from the computer before I formated it. What can I do to recover the Data??? It has all my pictures from the last 8 years. I will do just about anything to get this thing fixed. Thanks

Ok I need some smart, definite answers!
I plugged in my iPod to the computer to charge it and my idiot brother comes by and decides to restore his own iPod…so I come back and my iPod is completely erased! And greaat, I have no backup, no library, and no songs on my computer cuz I deleted them all for more room…(I know, I know..very stupid of me.. -.- )
Anyway, I read that all the data is still on the iPod hard drive somewhere as long as I don’t overwrite anything and that I could still recover all my lost songs.

But what the hell, I don’t see an iPod hard drive when I go to My Computer and I just realized that there’s no “enable disk use” option for iPod Touch! So how am I supposed to search my iPod? or I can’t?

Hey,
I’m trying to recover some files from an app that was deleted (textnow for those being picky), and I was wondering if there was any way to recover them. I don’t need to restore them, I just need to be able to read through them. Any software advice or info on how to access it?

I had this 320 GB drive for only 8 months. The data within are vital as my computer itself barely has rooms to store text files and I used the drive for pretty much everything. I found out that I can simply remove the outer exterior shell and to extract the harddrive and the small silicon chip attached to it, which is also the location where the USB plug attached broke off. I know that geeks out there its a piece of cake to work it out, but I’m not and I am seeking advice to recover my valuable data.
