Deleteing Files from the recycling bin and then completing removing them help?

I deleted some personal information from my recycling bin and I know it still stays on my HDD but I got this software that had this description……………Disk Redactor 1.2 is a File Shredder product from cezeo.com, Disk Redactor enables you to wipe the free space on a selected hard drive, thereby overwriting any previously deleted files, making recovery difficult or impossible. The software will not delete any of your existing files, it only wipes files that have already been deleted (but could be undeleted by data recovery programs). Disk Redactor can preserve the last 16k of a drive, an option that should be selected if you are wiping the free space on a system drive (usually C:).

I ran it and it appeared to work. So will this file be nearly impossible to recover from my hard disk?

Computer help–Trying to recover deleted jpegs, but I can’t open the files to view them!?

I’m trying to recover deleted files on an external hard drive. I used a lot of different Data Recovery programs to scan my hard drive and I had the files recovered to a folder on the desktop..

I got some deleted jpegs back, but I can’t open the pictures with any programs.

Does anyone have any suggestions on any programs to try, or any ideas what to do so I can view them? Like, I have the jpegs in a folder, but I can’t open them to see them at all.

Any ideas? Thanks

Help! “file does not contain image data” suddenly 300 pictures are lost! Can I recover them?

Please help me with this, there are over 300 missing photos from a vacation we cannot replace.
The pictures were all there last night when I wentto review them and suddenly, this morning nearly all of them say “File does not contain image data”
These are irreplaceable, PLEASE if anyone knows any way to retrieve them I’d be incredibly greatful. I’m willing to download software, anything to get these pictures back.

I use a NikonD40 and have a new 16 GB Sandisk memory card.

i can’t find my old emoticons on my harddrive. any chance of recovering them another way?

i’ve tried looking through though the c drive – C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\ but when i get there, the only messenger folder is called “MSN Messenger” and it contains more folders that are named by numbers – eg “373252188″. each of these folders contains files named “sqmnoopt00.sqm” (the 00 number continues up to 19 roughly).

my computer recently had some pretty serious viruses and i had all my personal settings lost. though i’ve been able to recover/restore some of them including my Outlook address book and Mozilla bookmarks.

is there anyway i can recover my emoticons? or do i just start asking my friends for them when we chat on msn?

Everyone use computer have this problem.
Sometime it is document file like word or excel or power point and sometime it is your favorite song or video
but what should you do if you replace your files by mistake?

how we can recover our files if we replaced them by mistake?

i think if there is no answer for this question we should look for new operating system more safe for our data ?? your answer and supporting please

My dad formatted his pc and reinstalled windows and lost all his files. Can i help him recover them?

My Dad recently wanted to format his PC and reinstall the OS (xp pro) and backed up all his media to a DVD, unfortunately the DVD became corrupted or damaged and hence he’s now lost all the media which contained precious family photos and videos, all his tax information etc etc

Now he told me he did this last night, and I’ve told him not to install anything else.

Can anyone advise me the best way to attempt to recover any of these files as I don’t have the first clue what to do or program to use. (I’m willing to pay to recover this so any file recovery software license fees ill pay)

I have some old 10 hard sector doublesided floppy disks with Wordstar data file on them. How to move to hd?

The hard sector disks were used with a Northstar Horizon 1980-1995. I would like to recover the Wordstar word processing data files. I have a working Northstar Dimension that can read the disks, but I can’t figure out how to output them to a current computer.
