This is the second time my Simpletech 1tb external hard drive suddenly stopped working properly and when it is attached to my computer and i try to access it, it pops up “this drive needs to be formatted before it can be used”. Last time i formatted it and lost everything, and im done with this hard drive but first i need to get the information off of it. Does anyone have any clue how i can access it? Is there a program on the internet that will help or do i have to bring it to a repair shop? What kind of money am I looking at for retrieval? Lastly, what is a good brand of hard drive to buy???

I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, tried everything. I would probably be willing to spend money on a program like GetDataBack or whatever but I just want to make sure that I can use the program on the drive itself considering i cant get onto it. It does come up in “my computer” folder but when I click on it, the “drive needs to be formatted” message appears. I have a ton of media on it I dont want to loose…

my computer wont start, it says on the monitor “invalid system disk, replace the disk, then boot failure, insert boot diskette. what will i do? my screen just froze and when i tried to restart my pc, this is what happened. how can i reboot it. is there any program i can download to help reboot it. because i can’t find my programs/ software for my pc. pls help. thanks

I only have one plug in my hard drive right now – I believe it is the data plug but I can’t find the power plug for it. What does it look like for a hard drive? I can’t find it! It’s somewhere inside my computer I think.

I got 2 hardrives 1 of Samsung and 2nd of Hitachi.Instead of Samsung HD when i put Hitachi and try to install windows it says Disk boot failure install system disk it brought my hd just a week ago.Ny suggestion how to comeup wid this problem

What do I do from here, because none of the files show signs of corruption. I’m using system software v2.8. And also, to check to see if I put it in the right spot, I placed it inside the game folder in the PSP folder at the root level. If you can’t help, a site where I can download jap PSP games would be nice.

My 8GB Kingston Data Traveler – Privacy Edition Thumb drive wont work anymore. Windows says the drive is corrupt. Its the kind of drive that you have to launch an application, which shows up as a CD/DVD drive, to input a password and then it unlocks the actual removable drive. I have alot of very important docs on it and like a dummy, didnt back alot of it up. any help is appreciated. Thanks.
