alright, so I am using the onboard nforce RAID controller that comes with my motherboard to create a mirrored raid array. If my motherboard dies, what happens to the array? How can I recover my data? Would I be able to plug one of the mirrored drives into a random SATA port (read: one which doesnt have a raid controller), and expect windows to be able to read its partitions? I know it wouldn’t be bootable on another mobo, but could I at least get to the data?
So this means that i could take one of my raided hard drives out of my computer….plug it into a completely different computer (a computer with its own hard drive and windows installation), and windows would be able to read the mirrored drive? I ask because i know you can’t do this with a single striped hard drive. Plug it into another computer and windows won’t be able to read it.

Can you recover data from a raid drive hooked up as a slave drive?
The main drive crashed. The computer has been formatted. Is there a way to hook up the other drives as slave drives and recover the data? Is there anyway to go about recovering data from raid drives?
There were three hard drives. Two of them are 250GB, and the third is a 320GB. Is there a way to access the two 250GB HDD’s data somehow?
SCSI RAID controller on my HP Netserver went kerplunk… can i rescue data on my drives using a SCSI cable?
During a recent crazy power outage (where everything in the building seems to have gone out in phases), the NetRAID controller on my HP NetServer went whacko and only “occasionally” detects my server’s SCSI drives. I’ve tried swapping drive locations and whatnot (as much as the required drive config limitations will allow), but two of my critical data store drives remain unavailable (or worse yet, Win2K Server declares the drives unformatted and asks if I want to format them… um, hell no!). So I guess my question is this: would I be able to retrieve the data on these unrecognizable drives and transfer it to a regular IDE drive if I had a SCSI cable to connect the drives to another computer? I don’t think the data has suffered any damage, but the drives just aren’t accessible thru Win2K Server anymore. Help..??!?
I think it was RAID1 but I wouldn’t stake my life on it… I kinda “inherited” this server from a surplus auction and I must confess I’m not really familiar with HP’s NetRAID controller or its config utility. You think I should just turn this over to a pro?

Raid 5 Server Failed What Should I Do…?
Please help.
I am a newb and I have built home data server with Rocketraid 2322 and 8×500gb drives in raid 5 array about 1 year ago. yesterday I came back from work and heard beep noise from my server which looked like warning so I checked and one drive from array was degraded but since it was in raid 5 I could just hot swap and be fine. I did that but it won’t let me rebuild for some reason I was going in internet to find out how to make it work and in no time other drives start failing simultaneously and that means really bad for raid 5. But when I restart its just fine except the first degraded drive. So I thought it was ok to leave them like that and long story short 2 more drives failed I think. the controller cant even recognize these drives. Im kind of exhausted please what should I do? It had all the data that cant be replaced which are photo’s and video’s also my work datas. Is there anyway to recover datas?
My Comp Won’t Boot. It Turns On But Gets Stuck & Won’t Even Start From Safe Mode. Tech Said It’s Raid Failure?
I was on the computer fine yesterday. Today I turn it on and it gets stuck at the Window’s XP screen start up and never gets passed that. I pushed F8 and tried to start in Safe Mode and still no go. I then paid $350 for a tech to come out and he said the RAID failed and there was no way to recover? Is this true? I can’t get to any of my data! Please someone help!!!

Raid 5 Array – 2 Of 5 Seagate 750gb Drives Failed?
Raid-5 array of of 5 Seagate 750GB drives. Degraded array was running on 4 of 5 drives and now a second drive has started acting bizzarely. If the data can be recovered from this faulty partialy-functioning drive we can rebuild the raid array itself with no problems. Looking for specialist!
Is Jbod A Raid? Jbod = Hdd?
Is JBOD a RAID. I got a failure HDD and I want to recover the data using aero data recovery service. But it said that broken HDD will cost 279$ flat rate, while any kind of RAID will cost 1200$. I don’t know whether JBOD is regarded as normal HDD (279$) or a RAID (1200$). Thanks
Raid 5 Configuration Help?
i have the 4500MGB Quad Bay Raid Pro it is a 4x 1TB HDD, i set it up using RAID 5 with EXt2 file system. Worked great for 5 days, moved all my data to it, then it re-set itself to original default settings, and now it says that the HDDs are all new and needs to be formatted. Only issue is that i think it lost the RAID config. Is there anyway to re-configure the RAID so it works again without losing the data, or anyway to recover the data off of it first? please help, over 1 million dollars worth of files. thanks
Can/ How Can You Recover The Good Drive From A Crashed Raid 0?
Suppose you’ve got 2 identical hard drives in Raid 0 – meaning that you are using the read/write capabilities of the drives in parallel, maximizing on speed.
The downside to a Raid 0 setup is that if either drive fails, all the data is lost.
Now suppose one of the 2 drives fail… for whatever reason.
Is it possible to save the other drive?
I figure that the data on that non-crashed drive will be corrupted – as only half of it is present. Would formatting the drive work? Or is it that when two drives are in raid 0, they are so closely tied that if one crashes, you might as well throw them both out/ replace both?
Finally, is there variability to this answer? Does it work with some hard drives and not others?
