First, i want to know if i can recover my data on a sata hard drive that has important files on it, the os is windows xp. I also want to know if i can just buy a similar motherboard, and get everything working that way. My current dead vga is a gigabyte ga-m61sme.

I have Halo 3 Legendary map packs and I want to transfer it to Tyler01994’s acc at his house.
I dont want to screw anything up, And I dont have the transfer kit to transfer my data to his.
I tried the following…
-Logging my acc. to his harddrive and redownloading = Failed
-Bring my harddrive, Tyler recovers his acc. to my harddrive and I redownload the legendary map pack = Failed
I just want A legendary map pack on Tyler01994’s hard-drive and mine still on mine. Please, someone help I’d completely appriciate it.
Am having MAJOR power connection problems with my GATEWAY MX6025 Laptop!?

Hello. This is the 2nd time i am going to attempt this rather long post, asking for your help. The last one was lost! UGH!
Ok, I am having power issues. We bought 2 Gateway MX6025 Laptops nearly a year ago. A couple monthes after that, we began to use them in the =vehicle using an inverter as we traveled alot.
Almost immedietly my laptop began having power issues while using the inverter. It took a couple of days to realize it might b connected to using that inverter. It would just shut-down. Sometimes it would reboot, other times it would attempt to reboot. About 75% of the time, it just could NOT reboot at all. I tried to system restores and all kinds of stuff, to NO avail. One day, about 3 days into the issue, it reboot and EVERYTHING was gone!! I took it to GeekSquad for:1)to recover my data; 2) to reinstall windows (XP). I got the data back, but the reinstallation of windows went very poorly. They even refunded my $$ cuz the lost alot, including my sound. So, ok. Phase II.
PHASE II:I have been having problems for monthes with my power cord. If you move just a lil bit, it comes undone. The piower goes off, and it kicks into battery mode. I have had to just be STILL while using it. So, since it has been worse the last month or so, i just try to fully charge the battery, then unplug. Cause sometimes it causes chkdsk or reboots when it comes undone.
We went out of town this weekend. My battery went dead. I plugged it in, and nothing! Over and over, NOTHING. When we got home, i tried DH’s cord, still NOTHING! ugh. So, i had the idea to try to switch batteries. We did. As long as its plugged in, my computer is working. The battery IS INDEED charging, but if the cord gets a lil squirrly ( which it does several times an hour) it kicks off! The battery HAS charged, but its not powering the computer.
On DH’s puiter both batteries work, as well as both cords. We have interchanged them all to eliminate that it was one f those causing problems.

How can I temporarily fix my hard drive problems?

I have 20GB HDD which a proficient friend of mine says is suffering from corruptions. I have experienced three crashes in the last three months accompanied by total data loss. On my last attempt at defragmenting the drive last week, the system actually told me that the HDD was corrupted and should be replaced. However, I cannot do that immediately. I am trying to re-install XP on the disk, but always encounter “initialization” problems when restarting after copying the files. I have formatted the disk according the NTFS (quick formatting). Do I need to do the full formating before these problems stop? Hope someone can help me out. Would be glad to supply more details if necessary.

Data recovery problem…I had a olympus camera that had a bunch of pictures I had taken. I forgot my memory stick so I used a USB card reader to save 700 meg worth of data on the actual card from an iMac school, public computer, I was using. It seemed to read just fine so I deleted the original data on the iMac and unmounted it. I tried it on my home computer, it says the card needs to be formatted. I can’t get my original pictures from the camera or my data. Even when I put the card in the camera it says it needs to be formatted. I talked to a few tech guys and they said that it might have to do with a different file system the camera uses and I didn’t enable disk use for it. NTFS Data recovery software seems to not work. If possible how can I recover the data for my finals project. The pictures are not as important.
External hard drive problems….?

I have a windows xp machine and I also have a external hard drive connected at all times to this machine. one day the computer crashed and then I was not able to access the hard drive contents after the crash. an error message would occur that said volume is corrupted. I check the properties of the hard drive and its saying that there is no data on the hard drive. (this computer doesnt have a virus.)
i installed partition table doctor and tried to recover it and when you hit browse contents from partition doctor software all the files are present. I tried running check disk and nothing fixes it. so I decided to plug the external hard drive to my windows 7 pc to see if I can fix it there. as soon as i plug it in a message pops ups saying please run check disk on this device. before I ran it I open the my computer and i was able to access the hard drive. so I ran check disk and 4 hours later it was done it worked fine on my windows 7 pc but still cannot get it to work on my windows xp machine. I ran check disk on my windows xp hard drives and still doesnt fix the problem. xp says access denied, file system is corrupted. but it works fine on windows 7 pc…. anyone have any ideas?

I’ve been taking holiday for a weeks, when i get back to the office fresh and start to work i couldn’t open my excel 2003 programs (i use windows 2003 in WinXp, 500MB RAM), everytime i open my excel file its always shows up dialogue box written :
Windows Installer, prepare to install
Then a few minutes show up notification, written :
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable (while i dont connect in any network system)
When i hit Cancel, it shows up :
Error 1706. Setup cannot find the require files.
What’s wrong with my excel program??
Please help, i’m desperate.
If i update my windows, all of my datas and also emails from outlook will be lost
