Recover Data Files, Unerase Files

For some time I have not been playing my xbox online.I decided to go to a friend’s house and play on their xbox 360,so I did the recover gamertag thing on thir console.Between that time and up to last night(maybe 3 weeks ago)I had been back playing on my console again offline.I brought home a game and it would not load my saved data stating that the data I was trying to load is of a different version than the game I have.This is what prompted me to connect my console to the internet.I then discovered that I would need to recover my account back onto my console in order to be on xbox live.It appears that I was being directed to overwrite my gamertag and info with what I had on my friend’s console.I did as was requested.Doing that caused me to lose all of the achievements and points from the time I left my friends house,began playing my own offline again and then had to recover back onto my console.The saved game data is still showing on the HD,but nothing else.All of those games were rentals and do I dont know yet what will happen once I try to play any of them.As for the game that wouldnt let me load my data,it showed all of my points and things as normal and I suspect that is because it was saved before I made a mess of things.The only way I can play that game now is by being signed into xbox live only.Also I have to sign myself out and then back in to get it to work.My question is this:Can things be repaired?Is there a way to get all of my old info and new back together like it should be?It almost seems like there are 2 versions of the same gamer profile on my HD although I have not been able to find any other but my one.its like somehow my Hd partitioned its self to have 2 profiles with slightly different data.Any help I would be very grateful for.This is obviously a software issue and not even Microsoft could figure it out.(not surprised)
