Recover Data Files, Unerase Files

What is an inexpensive way to get at my data? I have no cable or controller card. I could accept a solution with USB, PCI, EISA, or whatever will work, but I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars.

I formatted my Windows XP harddrive (250gb) to install a fresh copy of Windows XP. Note i did not use the quick formatt method. Is there ANY way I can recover my lost files? Its really just one folder im after. Thankyou in advance!

The actual thing is $99, but I’m only using this one time. It would be much appreciated if someone gave me the activating number thing. I cannot stress anymore on how much I really need this, I might fail my class if I don’t get this back by this weekend, it was a long term project. PLEASE HELP!!

My windows Vista has been corrupted. I cannot access any files in it and they may be important. Is it possible to access those files (in my documents etc) by using another operating system like linux ? I have this DSL(Damn Small Linux) on my pen drive but i cannot access any files other than those on the pendrive. Is there any way i can recover those files on the Hard Drive ?

I need help because every time i do the system restore I can’t continue because it says “OS (C:) (system)” and it’s status say ready to restore and then when i press “next” a prompt shows up saying “Windows has detected a file corruption on OS (C:). You must check the disk for errors.” After that, it gives me a link read as “check disk for errors” i click and then a ANOTHER prompt shows up telling me disk options such as “automatically fix file system errors” (which is already checked for you) and another option “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” I checked both options and then clicked “start” and then the prompts close and nothing happens after that, Now i don’t know if it’s because of safe mode but it’s confusing me and i don’t know…please tell me what’s wrong with it…
((I’m 14 years old so please explain this in the simplest way you can.))

when i load my pc up it says *NTLDR file is missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart*. i now have the booting disk to find retrieve this file but i dont know how to load the disk if the pc wont load up

Short version. I have 2 HDD’s in my PC. One is a hackintosh OS X Leopard (please, no angry comments about this), and the other Windows Vista with several partitions on it. The Windows HDD was erased by the Mac HD for use with Time Machine, and now I can’t boot off of it or access it. I’m pretty sure the whole drive was erased. How can I recover my data?

Long version. My PC came with a HDD with Vista installed. Since then, I’ve partitioned it several times. I have a partition for Vista, for Windows 7, and recently made one for Time Machine, which I’ll get to in a sec.
My other HDD is Mac OS X Leopard. I hacked this on my PC and use it daily. Hackintosh’s are always unstable, and an update broke it. I reinstalled and decided to start using Time Machine backups. I made a 150GB partition on my Windows HDD and went into Time Machine to format the new Time Machine partition. The wizard said to select my partition, which I did, then told me to select Erase, which I did. I never figured it would erase my entire Windows HDD, but it did. Now when I try to boot off of it, it says “Missing Operating System”. I had 350GB of data on my Windows HDD and would be crushed if I lost it all.

The thing is, I’m pretty sure I didn’t Format my windows HDD, I only “Erased” it. I’m not sure it makes a difference, but I need a method of recovering my data.

It was a long story, but please help.

ok my old pc took a crap on me, but the hard drive is still good i just recently bought a new dell 410 xps but i still want all my pic/videos from the old HD someone told me i can hook it up as a slave driver. the cables on the dell are different there small instead of the big fat gray ribbion. so what can i do. please help .

I had an email with a girls phone number and i did the ctrl shift 3 (screenshot) and saved it as a image 1.png but i havn’t been able to locate it.

there was single partition on my hard disk with win xp sp2, suddenly the OS crashed then i repartitioned it in to three drives & did complete format( not quick format) & reinstalled windows Xp . Now my earlier data has been lost . I want to ask is there any method or software to recover my earlier files. is it possible to do so. please send the solution urgently.

I lost my backup disk with all the pictures on it, im just wondering if theres a program that can access the files again, i had a problem with dual booting, with ubuntu and windows, so i had to format,.. i dont know how i did thiss, but i lost my backups…. lol. any help would be apreciated. I dident format with some extreme formatter, just fdisk i think, (the one in the windows 7 install DVD) . The hard drive is about 500Gigs, and with only one partition witch is 390 GIGs, and the rest unpartitioned space.
