my ibook has failed repeatedely. Changed the harddisk twice already. now another problem. should i fix it?

I don’t have apple care, and apple refused to fix anything. It’s going to cost me probably about $300. I’ve already changed the hard drive twice. Now they are suspecting another issue with the computer. Is it worth fixing the ibook? I’m afraid that after fixing it this time, another problem will come up. thanks for sharing your views

Recover Ibook G4 data from hard drive?

I have a Apple Ibook G4 which wont boot up due to a system board issue. I need to extract/recover data from the HD. Can I slave the G4 hard drive to my windows xp to recover the data? or what is the best way to recover the data (mainly pictures) that eventually will end up being transfered to a windows based PC.

If possible please provide links with your explanation

I should have been more specific

I have an adapter and a usb enclosure, however, when I connect the hard drive to my windows PC using either method the hard drive is detected but it unrecognized. I know that it due to my PC being windows and the hard drive having mac os.

What tool, probably software, can I use to read the contents for the hard drive?
