Can’t recover the music files I burnt in the DVD?
I had over the last one year made a music database of 25 GB. The music was in multiple formats…right from .wmv, .wma, .mp3 to real media. Sadly I had to format my system. I copied all my music in blank DVDs using Nero. When Nero asked me what format would I like to burn my DVD, I chose MP3 instead of Data DVD. I copied the files from the disk and used the paste method in Nero to burn my music DVDs.
After the format when I copied the music from the DVDs to my hard disc, it refused to play. All players including Windows Media Player 11, Real One Player, VLC Player….refused to read the music files. Real Player quotes the error it cannot read the file format or the data is corrupt. Windows Media Player quotes the error as: C00D11B1. I have checked my sound drivers and they are updated and perfect.
Another possibility of ID 3 tags also didn’t help. What can I do to recover my music from those MP3 DVDs. Someone please help. I’ve got some priceless music on those DVDs.

How do I recover files recently deleted from the recycle bin.?
So I just cleaned out my desk top short cuts..using rocket dock now..but what I didn’t know about rocket dock which i should have figured was when you put folders on it..then delete them from your desktop it deletes the contents of them on rocket dock..and I would like to see if anyone knows what programs are good for recovering these files? i see a lot but they all seem to be spam infester or work like crap crashing left and right..so what programs are good for recovering data deleted from the recycle bin?
Deleteing Files from the recycling bin and then completing removing them help?
I deleted some personal information from my recycling bin and I know it still stays on my HDD but I got this software that had this description……………Disk Redactor 1.2 is a File Shredder product from cezeo.com, Disk Redactor enables you to wipe the free space on a selected hard drive, thereby overwriting any previously deleted files, making recovery difficult or impossible. The software will not delete any of your existing files, it only wipes files that have already been deleted (but could be undeleted by data recovery programs). Disk Redactor can preserve the last 16k of a drive, an option that should be selected if you are wiping the free space on a system drive (usually C:).
I ran it and it appeared to work. So will this file be nearly impossible to recover from my hard disk?

Can I fix corrupted recovered files?
I accidentally deleted my “documents” folder on my Vista laptop last week. I used a program called “Power Data Recovery” to get my lost files back. However, most of the files are corrupted. Is it possible to fix them or is it too late? This was all done last Monday. Thank you.
My WD MyBook has just failed to be recognised by Windows Vista & XP, how can I recover files?
My External Western Digital Hard Drive has just failed to be recognised by both my Desktop and Laptop but I have around 200GB of data which NEEDS to be recovered as soon as possible. However, one problem is that it is not being recognised by either machine and therefore is not appearing within My Computer. What can I do to recover the files? Please no silly answers, I am having real problems here as I have a lot of important information such as University reports etc. which NEED to be recovered. I don’t have any other sources to get this information back so if it is lost forever, I’m in real trouble.
I have a Sandisk USB which randomly formatted itself. Is there any war of recovering my files?
Basically I’m an idiot and my files weren’t backed up but there were quite a few and they were really important so I kinda need them back.
It said something about password and I had a spaz and clicked yes, then when I saw it was formatting I panicked and removed the USB because I didn’t want to lose all of my work.
Help! Can you recover files on your desktop after reformatting computer?
I know my story is one of many. My comp crashed yesterday. I backed up last week, but put more pics on my desktop this week and thought I’ll back up soon. *hits forehead* I’ve reformatted and now I’m wondering if I can recover my pictures on my desktop. I know I’m a loony for not backing up this week. (This has caused me to want to back up every 5 minutes now.
Please, please help me. Pictures that I lost are not re-takeable.
P.S. Is there a software program that fully recovers data/files/folders without help from the user? I do not understand computer jargon, lingo, or whatever enough to follow directions. And what is a slave? o.O

I am quite sad over this. I lost a vid of a sweet kid who has cerebra palsy. I have learned. *bows head*
I accidentally did a partial system recovery (saving data files) and now cannot access old pics :(?
Apparently I aquired many viruses, one of which made my system prompt for a restore (over and over). I did this maybe 3 times over the course of a day and the next time the prompting message came up, either it asked for OR I somehow managed to do a system RECOVERY versus RESTORE, where all of my old drivers and other things were wiped out. Luckily, I still had all of my music files and some pics that I saved on the C:/ folder (rather than in a documents folder) and some other various stuff.
After this “partial” recovery, there were still many problems. I was immediately hit with some horrific viruses where I was not able to download anything or even view any pages on the internet unless I viewed the cached pages, or else I would be redirected. Logging on was a bitch, sometimes restarting the computer 10 or 12 times before getting the desktop to fully open, in which I used OPERA instead of IE. I finally decided, to try the system recovery again that saves data files and this took care of many of my problems and I was able to run superatispyware and install avast (superantispyware detected TONS of Trojans and rootkits and adware!!!!) so all is well now EXCEPT the main problem:
I have had this comp for 5 yeears and all of the photos that are in my c:documents and settings/owner folder are somehow blocked. Access seems to be denied. I am on XP home version. The first time I recovered my comp, I renamed my computer a dif. name so when I did it the second time, I went back to the original name, thinking this would help….to no avail. I am scared to death to lose these photos of my kids and family! I should have printed!
HERE IS WHAT HAPPENS:
I open my computer, double click the c:, double click documents and settings and now I have a ton of choices. I USED TO then double click the OWNER folder and then click documents and pictured from there to access my photos, but NOW WHEN I DO THAT, I get a “windows needs to close” message and all of that closes (maybe because I downloaded the RTT tool). an hour ago when I would do this, I would get an error message saying “c:/windows/owner access is denied” message.
instead of clicking the owner folder now, I also have the choice of clicking the 2nd name folder (megan OWner, it says) and the original name folder (which are names I have chosen to name my computer ) Brittany Owner. I’m totally lost and didn’t know how to shorten my answer. Sorry for the length, but a fix would be GREATLY appreciated. BY THE WAY, there is only one account on this computer which supposedly has administrator rights, I believe.
Why did my files disappear after rebooting the first time after installing Windows Vista?
After installing Windows Vista, I rebooted my computer after moving my files to the computer. As soon as my desktop appeared, my files showed up for one second, then they instantly disappeared. The folders that some of the files were in are completely empty except for an email file, but the folder skeleton was still intact for some reason. I recovered some of the files using a free data recovery tool, Undelete Plus. Please tell me what happened!
