frnds i have lost my most important data which is some picture which is zipped by winrar, i wanna to recover this files please help me to recover this file or if u have any softwrae for winrar recovery plz send me to pegion_s1@yahoo.com

there’s some problem in my laptop window because of viruse, so i install new window but from that time my most of the data in all drives show only folders in exe. files but show nothing in that folders and I WANT TO KNOW HOW I STOP THIS TO MAKE SYSTEM FILES AND HOW I RECOVER DATA.

A corrupt file in my computer is stopping me from logging on (PC, Vista)

I tried to run Start-up repair, but there were no results – the report just stated: “1 root cause” – nothing was fixed

I attempted to run System Restore (picking a restore point before the file corruption), but it didn’t work – the corrupted file is preventing it…

And i have no idea how to find this file and delete it.

I have however backed-up all my files, so is there another way to go about doing a System Restore or is a System Recovery my only option?

Okay, i was finally able to log in, in safe mode. I went to the drive, into properties and tried to do a error check – but nothing happened. After i clicked it, no new screens came up, nothing at all…

Even the disk check under system restore comes up with nothing – just like the start-up repair
I decided that a System Recovery was the best way to go, since I’d kind of run out of options.

I needed to get my computer working again, as soon as possible – this seemed the best way.

Gonna take some time to get things back to the way they were, but oh well…

how do i recover files that are deleted or emptied from the recycle bin?

The hard sector disks were used with a Northstar Horizon 1980-1995. I would like to recover the Wordstar word processing data files. I have a working Northstar Dimension that can read the disks, but I can’t figure out how to output them to a current computer.

I’m using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition.The system file that was corrupted on my hp laptop is the Windows File System Transaction log.I am thinking of doing a system restore because I’m a having a trouble with installing windows updates due to the corruption of my Windows File system transaction log.Typing fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ on coammand prompt did not work so I hope that doing a system restore will address my problem.I’m also having a little or maybe big problem with not being able to open my Disk Defragmenter window.Please help me!

It was an image, no big deal, but is it possible to get it back?

There is an option for ‘empty trash’ and ’secure empty trash’; both say it will delete files permanently.

Ok so here’s the deal guys.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1525 running Windows Vista.Upon start up I’m getting these error messages:

In the tool bar this error message comes up:

so when I close these messages it then says:

Window Media center Store Update Manager stopped working and was closed.

Ok. So microft notified me that that the last error message (media center data store) was caused by the update process (Mcupdate.exe) not being able to access the windows media center data store probably because of damage to that file.
Directed me to delete this file:%SYSTEMDRIVE%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDatastore.db
It then said to run media center and all would be ok.
I did this( however my file DID NOT have .db in the title)
and recieved this message

Now guys I have tried to simply restore my system to a date before all these infuriatingly irritating error messages started popping up and was not allowed to. whenever I try I get this message:

System Restore
The disk OS (C: )
Windows has detected file system corruption on OS ( C: )
You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.

But of course when I try to check the disk for error it informs me that it cannot check while the dsk is running at which point I schedule it to check upon startup. But when I startup it doesn’t seem to check for anything only more error messages!!!

I have attempted to access this file I can only get this far:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\framework\v2.0.50727\

It will not allow me to open the CONFIG folder because it says it is corrupt or unreadable. However when I open the properties of CONFIG it says that it is empty.0 Bytes. 0 Folders.
How can these files be corrupt and noexistant? Or is it that the file were delted somehow and that’s why is saying corrupt because it’s looking but can’t find it?

Is there a gameshark code for Pokemon Red and Blue versions to recover lost game data/save file after my gameshark totally deleted it?

I just bought a 1Tb hdd, Western Digital Caviar Green, after i created a partition and i formatted the drive, i copied 830GB of data on it. Afterward i moved the drive to another PC and the partition just didn’t showed up. All i got was 931 GB Unallocated Space.

I used a data recovery software and i’ve seen all my files there, but i can’t get them out (i don’t have another drive with 830 GB free space to copy the files from the unallocated area).

How can i make a partition in that Unallocated space without losing the data that’s there?
There’s no os installed, chkdsk does not help since the drive does not even have a letter.

Also, most data recovery programs do not even recognize the drive (maybe it’s because of it’s large file size).

Mr. Mark, I would try what you recommended if i know that I won’t just get a brand new partition with nothing on it (i don’t want that). Were you in a same situation and that program helped you recover your partition with your files on it?
The original computer is somewhat 300 miles away, that’s why i bought the drive in the first place, to move this data. So i can’t test it on the other PC.

Both systems have XP sp3
I finally managed to make it work. I’d be happy to share how to whoever needs it but i used a shareware product and it’s $50. Maybe there’s something freeware that manages to do the exact same thing and i just couldn’t find it. Kudos for all the nice replies.

how do i recover my pictures and my music and some programs i lost. and how can i do this free witout buying software .

I had a virus crash and the system partition lost the format. I did a search with File scavenger using another PC, it found a lot of files which I want to recover (it found more than 12 GB), but it also says that many sectors are bad, and I can’t finish the search and recover the files. Tried it 2 times.
Should I try it with another program or what?
