Recover Data Files, Unerase Files

Details: I have two hard disks, one 80GB and 320 GB hard disk. I installed Linux on one of the drives of the 80GB hard disk and it used up all the space in the 320 GB hard disk as swap space. I had my important data, of almost 100GB in that 320GB hard disk from my Windows OS.
I was unaware that linux will format the drive.
Is it possible to recover the data?
if yes how or where. I’m a resident of Bangalore, India.
Please this is urgent.

My Fujitsu 160 MB portable hard disk is with me for 6 months working, then suddenly I can’t able to access my files. When I select the disk from my Windows Explorer, the mouse hourglass just keeps on showing, then it hangs. Any advise on what to do? There are important files that I need to retrieve.
Oops, its not 160 MB, its 160 GB.

I have an older computer that I have to use for educational programs that only run on older systems. Now it tells me Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disc and press enter. I don’t have a system disc. Is there anything I can do?

I KNOW ABOUT RECOVERY SOFTWARE I DID SCAN WITH THE RECOVER MY FILES BUT IT STOPS AFTER SOMETIME. SO I JUST WANT TO ASK YOU THAT I HAVE TO SCAN HARD DISK AS IT IS. OR FORMAT IT AND THEN I HAVE TO TRY WITH RECOVERY SOFTWARE

My 80 Gb baracauda 7200 rpm ATA disk has stopped working. I was using it as a slave drive, (The primary disk being the identical one). Now, the problem is :

1. The Slave drive appears in BIOS but not in My Computer

2. While booting with both drives attached ( primary and slave), it takes too long 20 Mins, ( during which the WINDOWS XP Professional logo in black background-with scrolling bars appears )

When I disconnect the power cable with Slave drive, and re-start, booting takes place normally.

Can you tell me What’s the problem and how to solve it ? How can I revive that slave drive ?

PS – The device manager unable to show the problem, the drives are proper, the ide cable is working.
There is no problem with Motherboard 845 GVSR.

like making it a partition of 500GB and 500GB, so that if one disk failed, you can still save the other disk? can you do that in your external harddisk?

several months ago , the conditin of this disk drvive is : delayed write lost & data is lost.so i cant used it ,
now i reformat my whole computer to zero format but now the other dive got corrupted. can i recover this corrupted disk?

My sister’s friend formated my hard disk accidently. However, I still had some data on the hard disk which was quite important. Is there anyone out there would provide services like undo the formating and get back the previous data(s)?
