Recover Data Files, Unerase Files

several months ago , the conditin of this disk drvive is : delayed write lost & data is lost.so i cant used it ,
now i reformat my whole computer to zero format but now the other dive got corrupted. can i recover this corrupted disk?

I think a CD-RW of mine with files on it is corrupted. It says: “CD-RW with unrecognised data. This disc can be formatted for read and write access.” All the files on it are gone and the only 2 files on the CD I can see are Autorun.inf and udfrinst.exe. Is it possible to recover the data?

I turned on my Fantom drive this morning to find that the contents of an entire directory of movie files was gone. The folder listed 0 files, 0 bytes, though they were all present the day before and I know no one deleted them. But what’s weird is that when I tried to transfer some of the deleted files from my computer hard drive to the Fantom, it wouldn’t let me, saying stuff about files with those names already existing in that directory. So it’s like the data is all there – it’s just not showing up.

The hard drive was off and I know NO ONE accessed it between the last time I saw the files and this morning. I think that since it appears that the data is still present, there is a chance to save it. Any pointers?

Here’s my problem… I have a data DVD that contains movie files in AVI format. I think so when the files were being written, there was a write-error. But the DVD is playable on my DVD player, but gives a corrupt disc dialog on the computer as a result of which I cannot save the files. Please can anyone recommend me a good software that will recover at least 2 movies from the disc??? or any other solution too will do…

My digital camera memory card got corrupted when I had it in my laptop card reader. What happened was I was trying to delete some pictures on the card but I was getting an error each time I tried to delete a picture. However the picture appeard to be getting removed from the folder so I continued deleting the pictures one by one. Then when I removed the card from the computer my laptop crashed (blue screen crash). Then when I put the card into the camera it said ‘card not initialized’. I tried it again in my laptop after rebooting and it tells me the card is not formatted. There are pictures and video on the card that belong to someone else which I did not download. Anyone know why this might have happened and if there is a way to recover the pictures? For the record the camera is a Fujifilm and card is 512MB XD card. My laptop is running Windows XP. The card was originally formatted in the camera.

A few months ago my computer crashed, and enough files were corrupted that XP wouldn’t load. I had to reinstall windows on a seperate hard drive to browse my old files. Music and photos, everything else would still load without a problem. The other day however, I loaded up the computer and it automatically checked my disk and did it’s repairs while I was trying to find a keyboard to skip the process. Now my D: drive is missing it’s ‘Documents and Settings” folder, but all of the space is still taken up. No folders are hidden and the only folders I see are taking up just a few GB by themselves. I’m not sure what happened here. I chose a restore point but that didn’t help and the folder itself wasn’t backed up. How can I get my data back?

I’m using Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition.The system file that was corrupted on my hp laptop is the Windows File System Transaction log.I am thinking of doing a system restore because I’m a having a trouble with installing windows updates due to the corruption of my Windows File system transaction log.Typing fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ on coammand prompt did not work so I hope that doing a system restore will address my problem.I’m also having a little or maybe big problem with not being able to open my Disk Defragmenter window.Please help me!

i have some important pics in memory card and the card is not detectable by card reader and even in cell phone.

i really want these pics back…plz guys tell me how to get them back without going to any expert.

Not the other Data File corruption, just the system files.

I recently connected my external hard drive to my PC to backup some data. Halfway through my PC shut down (thanks to Microsoft’s updates, no less). Due to the unexpected shutdown my hard drive is now “corrupted and inaccessible” , however seeing as it can still be detected as “Local Disk (H:)” whenever I try to connect it I think there’s still some hope.

Any hard drive recovery method/freeware/paid software you’ve used before that worked? Thanks.
PC’s OS is Windows XP SP3 if it’s significant.
From what I understand, reformating my drive (both quick or thorough) will wipe clean all the data. Anyone can verify this?

Its a 40GB External hard drive, and gives the following message when plugged to the computer ” the drive is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.”

I am planning to do a system restore on my Vista laptop hoping that it will fix my Windows Update problem caused by the corruption of my Windows File system transaction log.And probably also my Disk Defragmenter window which refuses to appear when I click it.
