I have an 80GB Seagate ATA Hard disk around 3 years old. Now it is not showing any of my previous partitions or data. My important data are in it. Please tell me how I can retrieve my data.

You will need to purchae software to recover your lost files. have a look at http://www.ontrack.com they sell Easy Recovery Lite and that should work. Alternatively you can search google for “recover files from formatted disk” and you may find other software. If you are using the disk the chances of recovering the data is less as the lost files are slowly being destroyed by new files that are being created on the disk. Hope this helps, good luck.

yes you’ll need a data recovery program but if its losing the master file table (which is why your partitions have disappeared) then i suggest you replace the drive asap. this happened to me recently and i lost all the data on the drive…luckily i had nothing on it worth keeping anyways as it was just vista and a few programs on it and i have all the cd’s for it to re-install them again.
