you can try to recover your information by going to a computer specialist and getting them to either diagnose the hard drive’s problem or switch the information to another drive. like someone else said, this can be a bit costly. i would recommend backing up information to e-mail or to one’s desktop next time.
It depends. If it’s the circuit board that has fried on the hard disk, but the actual motor and platters are still fine, you can swap the circuit board with a working one from a hard disk of the (exact) same model. My computer sciences teacher did it for a friend once.
Otherwise, if the damage is to the disk itself, you will be paying big money to try and get it recovered through some professional service.
I can most likely tell you whats up. Either your hard drive has been nuked (it still spins but the firmware on it is f0ked and it won’t program to your MOBO) or you changed some Basic Input Output Settings without knowing it and your hard drive is enjoying its vacation. IF it is damaged, its going to cost A LOT to get the data off it. If it is really important I would but expect it to cost about 300-700. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!
Yes, you can recover data, but you’ll have to go to a place that offers that service. There are businesses that can recover data off of non-functional, broken, or wiped drives. It will cost a bit of money.
You can try a google for “data recovery YOUR CITY/STATE HERE” kind of thing and see what you find.
If its a software issue, then there is data recovery software, but if its a hardware issue, I believe there is a data recovery services provided by some company, but it will cost you a lot of money.
There are data recovery services available. The are VERY expensive. Plan on spending $500 – $1500.
I have used http://www.datarecoverygroup.com/ several times successfully.
