How Can I Recover Data Erased On My Computer?
i erased my files and it skipped the recyle bin because it was 3 gigs of photos, and now i want it back, i heard theres a way to get it from the hard drive. does anyone know what program i can use and is free to recover it? thanks!
There’s a program I used to have called ‘Tune Up Utilitities 2006′, I think you can recover lost files with it. It’s not free but you can download a free 30 day trialhttp://www.tune-up.com/

You might want to try Norton’s Data recovery Utility. It comes with the Tool Suite they market. No guarantees, based on what it was that you did, but files when ‘deleted’ are actually still there, but marked as no longer valid, ‘to be deleted’. The utility can identify these files and if still recoverable, get them back for you. It’s only after you reorganize your folders or compress them that you actually have little chance to get back data. Be aware that with photo images, any part that is no recoverable, will mean the entire image is shot. Good luck no matter what you decide to do….

Have you tried to do a search? Sometimes if you go to >>start>>search>> and type in part of the file name, it’ll show up, even after it’s been deleted. Otherwise try FileScavenger http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm
January 18, 2010 11:40 pm | #4You could use a data recovery program.
January 18, 2010 11:52 pm | #5data recovery after it’s been deleted from the recycle bin is very very expensive… in the hundreds of dollars… unless it’s life or death stuff let it go.
January 19, 2010 12:18 am | #6The thing is that what probably happend is the recycle bin couldnt hold that much gigs so you probably didnt notice or ingnored the little sign that popped up that says recycle bin cannot fit that material . and it would have asked you if you wanted to continue anyways, and if that is what happend you probably wont be able to get it back without a professional coming in and taking it out which woudl cost a recovery fee.Good Luck

ONE OR THE OTHER LINKS IS SURELY GOING TO HELP YOU!
Runtime’s GetDataBack, it may have a free trial period, not sure of the limitations. And some nicer data recovery places might only charge a $100 at most. Contact me off list for details.
January 19, 2010 1:49 am | #10simply use system restore. it might help
January 19, 2010 2:41 am | #11cman is correct. you probably will have to pay to recover deleted files and pics. my son deleted a whole lot of photos off his mac but restored 95% of them by using a program he had to pay for. it can be done.
January 19, 2010 2:46 am | #12Whatever you do stop using your computer. If you deleted the files you want, you will start writting over the files with anything you do on the computer. If they are 100% important, take the hard drive to a specialist. If you add recovery programs at this point you will probably damage the deleted files. Basically once a file is deleted it’s kilobytes are up for grabs by any other file that needs them. So don’t creat any files or load any programs.
January 19, 2010 2:59 am | #13tune up utilities 2006 http://www.tune-up.com , got a Complete ERASE file program that will DEFINATELY delete it, and an Undelete Feature
January 19, 2010 3:33 am | #14once its gone, its gone.
January 19, 2010 3:57 am | #15This is a very common problem with computer uses. However, when you delete a file, it is not deleted, it is only marked to be overwritten. If you have not added any more files to your computer since then, chances are you will be able to recover most (if not all) of your files. There are many programs available that will do this for you. Here are a few.

January 19, 2010 4:49 am | #17A Backup of data is the ONLY sure way to know that your files are secure. And there is no garuntee on that.
Its Digital Data, get that? Electronic Algorithms in a false state of suspension is not the place to store anything of any sense of value. Got an idea, share it, got a care, give it, need that data, triple redundancy.
There is a software known as Tune up Utilities and if u remember the name of tht file type it.Tht will solve ur programme.thanks for another 10 points
January 19, 2010 5:38 am | #18With recovery software.
January 19, 2010 5:49 am | #19So long as you have not writen 0’s to the drive when you earsed the data the first time.
You can use software like i have listed belowhttp://www.pctools.com/file-recover/http://www.active-undelete.com/
You may be able to retreive your data by using your computer’s “system restore.” You might try doing a search for those words to find the program.
January 19, 2010 6:17 am | #20If you know the path exactly try start and run..
January 19, 2010 7:02 am | #21there’s a program called Norton UnErase wizard. You can recover your deleted data with it. Download Norton Utilities.
January 19, 2010 7:54 am | #22If its erased, its erased. If you tried to dump too much into your recycle bin and now its not there, or if its from an external drive and you erased it, its gone for good. Sorry hun.
January 19, 2010 8:06 am | #23If I may suggest this now, since hindsight is 20/20. go purchase an external hard drive, or make back ups of files you want saved onto either a Zip drive, thumb drive, etc… I’m telling you, this ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
Sadly there are no free ways to recover your lost things. But you might for next time want to right click your recycle been and hit properties and go to global and move the percentage up to 100 otherwise if you have to much stuff it will automatically delete it. So this doesn’t really solve your problem but it will prevent it from happening again.
January 19, 2010 9:05 am | #24I use system restore, works most of the time. Go to all programs, then accessories, then system tools and you should see it there. They have check points, if the first one doesn’t work try another day.
January 19, 2010 9:08 am | #25u just can’t recover it if only u have some kind of a memory-recovery program all ready installed:)
January 19, 2010 9:29 am | #26Good Luck
Sorry to give you the bad news, but there is no program out there. Once you have erased something and it skips the recycle bin, it’s gone. The only thing that you can do is to find the photos that you had put there initially and upload it to the computer and then save it as a file.
January 19, 2010 10:15 am | #27u can’t
January 19, 2010 10:16 am | #28yeah u heard right u can get ur erased data from ur hard disk but i think u cant do that cos it need a pro to do that u need a pro
