…. my cable is different. instead of 4 insert things, theres 3 ( 1 connected to the CD drive, then to the HDD, and then to that motherboard or w/e its called….) help???
Rebooted PC and it starts ok both drives are present under disk drives in system devices but under my computer only C drive is presentWent into BIOS and only drive recognised is the original Drive which is now secondary Master, there is no primary master, or any slaves listed in the Bios, any ideas?
I wanted to install a new HD as a slave, its same HD as existing but 80GBI disconnected HD1 cable from existing HD and changed the jumper to Master, reconnected to “Drive 0″ on other end of cable and attached the slave to Drive 1 slot, ensuring that jumper settings were set to Slave
Maybe u can help me Current set upDell Dimension 3000 “windows xp SP2″W Digital IDE 40GB conncted to a cable, one end labeled sys, other HD1 The other side of the cable (other side of mother board) was connected to optical drive, this side of cable had 2 ports, for drive 0 and drive 1, i disconned the optical drive
