My Dell XPS1350 keeps crashing. I’m trying to restore it to the last restore point, but when I do, it says:
“The disk OS (C:) has errors.
Windows has detected file system corruption on OS (C:). You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.”
Ok, fine, so I try and check the disk for errors. But when I do, it says:
“Windows can’t check the disk while it’s in use.
Do you want to check for hard disk errors the next time you start your computer?”
Ok, so I click, “schedule disk check” and restart my computer. Nothing. I’ve tried the disk check several times after restart (and I’ve tried “scheduling” a disk check, restarting, and waiting for it to start on it’s own, as “scheduled”) to no avail. The cycle continues.
Any advice?
Thanks!!

Try TuneUp Utilities 2009
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/
There’s a free 30-day trial with full functionality. After download, in the Solve Problem section, try its tuneup disk doctor.
It also has other useful tuneup features. Give it a try
Also try this
Start/Run/chkdsk
the chkdsk command can fix logical file system errors
If none help i guess you should consider a reformatting.

Download Ultimate Boot CD from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ and burn it to a disk as an ISO image. http://tnthelpforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=198
Insert the disk and restart your computer. Run the Hard Drive diagnostics to check for any drive errors.
Let us know what the results are.
